17 children in the age group between 7-9 years, living in Tiong Bahru-Tanjong Pagar Constituency embarked on a Learning Journey at Gan Heritage Centre on Saturday, 15 March 2014. Following the tour of the Gan Heritage Centre, these children took part in a quiz. In line with the core values taught by Confucius, we imparted key values such as humanity, ethics and virtues, filial piety, integrity and kindness to them through the Learning Journey programme.
With Gan Heritage Centre(GHC) opening its doors visits, this provides an excellent platform for students' learning. We adhere to the learning of our Mother Tongue and inculcating the passion for Chinese culture to enable more in the younger generation to understand how rich and interesting Chinese culture is and the close connection to their lives.
Gan Clan Singapore officially launched Gan Heritage Centre on September 5, 2013, 10 am. Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong, who is the Honorary Advisor to Gan Clan Singapore, graced the occasion as the Guest-of-Honour. After a two-year journey of transformation, the refurbished premises of Gan Clan Singapore, which houses the exciting new Gan Heritage Centre on the third level, will be unveiled.
Gan Heritage Centre is a project supported by the National Heritage Board, and aims to promote Gan historical culture and Chinese culture.
In line with the new Constitution, a new council of 18 was appointed at the by-election held on the 29th August 2012. The election of the new Executive Council is a new milestone for Gan Clan Singapore going through a steadily transition of leadership which will propel our association to a greater height.
